Albino hasn't eaten in a week!

bmills May 18, 2003 10:34 PM

I have an albino leopard gecko who hasn't eaten in a week. I was wondering if this is normal for them to do that a couple times a year or not. She didn't eat for about a week when I first got her because of hte move and being stressed out, then she ate fine and her tail would shake before she pounced on the food, she was doing great. She still has a plump tail now but she hasn't eaten in a week...is that normal? I don't have her on sand so I'm pretty sure she hasn't eaten the sand and become impacted. And I have her temperature between 84-90 during the day and 75-80 at night. Please let me knwo if you have any suggestions on what to do. I normally feed her crickets. I was considereing switching food. If I do, do you have any suggestions. Please let me know, thanks.

I have not taken her to the vet yet. She is on a type of gecko carpet, so she is not on sand so I don't think she is compacted. let me know if you ahve any other suggestions.

All i can suggest is trying a different type of food, she may be bored with crickets. I wouldnt worry, aslong as she isnt losing alot of weight fast, she may just be going on a fast. Its normal for them to do this when they have lots of reserve in their tail. My gecko really likes superworms, see if you can get some of those. Sorry i cant be more help, but thats all i can think of if your temps are fine and shes not on sand.
