Cuttle Fish Bone?

Hi i put half a cuttle fish bone in my tank just as extra calcium for my two turtles but been told to grate it and add it over there food instead of buying reptocal or other calcium supplement anyone do this thought not a bad idea as is great source of calcium? Anyone know?

Yes cuttle bone is a good source for calcium IF you can get your turtle to eat it.
Mine won't touch cuttlebone, I tried it lol but they'll eat whole live fish so I just feed them minnows now & then.
