New World Rat snakes are medium sized constrictors that can be found through a great portion of the north and central America. They feed primarily on rodents and birds in the wild and some species are known to be avid climbers. Most make attractive and docile pets while others can be skittish and sometimes aggressive. Bites are seldom serious and no species of ratsnake is dangerous to humans. They are popular as first time reptile pets or breeding projects due to their relatively small size and basic care requirements Here you may post messages or questions pertaining to all aspects and issues regarding the keeping, breeding, health, and conservation of all Rat Snakes.
