Most watersnakes are buttheads. Some calm down. The most docile Nerodia I have come across are the erythrogaster species. Water snakes make interesting pets and are fun to observe. Personally, I dont handle them much if i keep them in captivity. And yes , if you're going to handle your pet, wait several days after feeding. Good luck.
