Hello:
Cuba certainly has some of the more interesting "Giant" Anoles but certainly there are lots of other species just as interesting. Unfortunately there are very few Anole enthusiasts here in the states. I think part of that is the stigma that anoles tend to be "feeder" lizards. People who do keep them know differently. Anoles are fascinating lizards and make quite interesting terrarium inhabitants. They can be set up in very beautiful and elaborate terrarium settings and seem to settle in just fine. If cared for properly many species breed regularly though teaching them to lay eggs where you can easily collect them can be challenging.
The babies are prone to dehydration so care must be taken in raising them for the first couple months. Once they go beyond that they take off and grow very quickly.
I wish there was more interest in them. In Europe there are quite a number of enthusiasts that are breeding various species of them. This forum is a good starting point to gain some insight into these fascinating "New World" lizards. While there is some interest here in the states it is very sparse. Maybe these forums will help change that.
Have a Great Day!!!
