thanks for the ideas. he died monday afternoon. i took him to my vet and he said the toad had dropsy. which is very common with amphibians apparently. i googled dropsy and got a lot of info. it is so common that i would think the moderator or others experienced with amphibians in this forum could have told me about it last week and my toad might have lived. thank you.
