Hi all,

I just started housing 2 month-old sulcatas in a tank with calci-sand as substrate and a large mound of timothy grass on one end for burrowing/hiding purposes. I've been told that the calci-sand is digestible by the pet store specialized in reptiles and won't cause compaction. However, the breeder who I got the tortoises from is against using sand of any sort and prefers housing on straight hay.

Anyone ever had impaction problems from digestible calci-sand? Thanks.
