What happened with the dial-up? Planned obsolescence? Mine finally simply didn't work at all over half the time. It couldn't make connections. I was fortunate, that even in the boonies as I am, I could connect to a DSL, or whatever it's called. It's more expensive, but all in all, this kind of communication is awesome to me. I grew up without a telephone or electricity for a good part of my very early years--or an indoor toilet, for that matter. Communication was by letters taken to a town 12 miles away about twice a month. Now I get pissed off if the computer doesn't give instant satisfaction within seconds. Are we spoiled, or what??
