We have zillion of them in my area (Miami) I never see them its like they dont excist when we get cool spells but on most days as warm/hot they are all over at night.
Did you try overhead heat with black bulb as not to give off light just set on low in certain side of tank.
They are found even in dry season like now all over aslong as warm at night
