i offered mine a basking spot for the first yr. he never used it. i have not offered him one the last 7 yrs. i have bricks around the heater and filter that he could prop homself on but i have nbot seen him attempt this so i dont have a light on it. so to recap, my guy has never basked in 8 yrs.
