From your descriptions I see nothing that describes "picky"?
I do see he may be an AGGRESSIVE feeder. Just like the other poster said, keep things he should not eat from him.

When he wakes up it starts again. We are building him a pen outside by the pond that will be planted but it is still to cold for him outside.
