the adult geckos i've bought usually take about a week to settle in before they start eating. However, just in case they eat or drink when i'm not home i always have food or water in the cage and mist the cage once a day. After they settle in and calm down then i put them on my every other day eating schedule that my other cresteds are on. Good luck.
