From what Jud and I have experienced over the many years we have kept and bred greens, we don't believe that they need high humidity in captivity. We keep them on newspaper with only small water bowls for drinking. We do not supply pools for soaking, even with newborn greens. Additionally, hides for young greens under 6 feet are essential in my opinion. I keep humidity levels with all my greens between 60 and 70%. The humidity is never over 70% unless I am misting one in the shedding process during the drier winter months. We have never seen any adverse health effects from keeping greens under these conditions, and I know other people who keep yellows under these same conditions as well.
