I live in northern ohio and the best way I find to
locate them is in their larvae state.
find a nice stream or small creek and flip over a
couple rocks.
most of the time you'll see one.If you do collect some
just grab some rocks with moss on them.the critters in there
will feed them for a couple weeks.
