Harold,
Clean humid fresh air is 3 things you need to achieve. If it is a small snake I would consider a tube with vent holes and water bowl. I would mist once a day and air the cage out once a day. Temps can range from 75 to 85. Most importantly I would buy a snake from a rebutable breeder. I know Rico has several babies availble.
