That certainly looks like an Indian Python from the head pic but it would be better to be able to see the entire snake. Husbandry for Indians is pretty much the same as that of Burmese and Retics. Indians do come from more xeric areas and don't need as much humidity...It's very odd to get an Indian Python in a rescue situation. If you don't mind me asking where is it that you live?
