Have you thought about going to some of these establishments in person? They may want to take an actual look at the applicant, rather than answer an e-mail which can be looked as a somewhat lazy way to apply. Without judging, your inquiry may have left some questions in their minds, as to your suitability. You also cannot write off one e-mail as a failure. They may have not even received them, or they got tossed in the spam folder. If you're serious, keep trying!
