A few weeks ago I found a beautiful adult alligator lizard on my front porch. Normally I leave the lizards around here alone, but it still had its full original tail, and to me that seemed rather rare, so I kept it.

I keep it in a glass terrarium near a window. It gets plenty of light but never any direct sunlight.

Anyway, today I noticed that it had laid eggs!

I've kept and cared for reptiles and things for most of my life (I'm 29), but never before has one laid eggs while in my care.

I need to know how best to care for this situation so that the eggs remain healthy and the babies are born properly and survive.

I feel they should have more shelter. She has hiding places in the terrarium, such as a little rock cave, but she decided to lay the eggs in the corner out in the open.

Anyway, I'd like some advice.

Thank you
