I also agree that it's one of those two. If it was found somewhere in the extreme southwestern portion of California, or southward throughout Baja California del Norte and the upper half of Baja California del Sur, Mexico, then it's a Crotalus ruber. Otherwise, it's a Western Diamondback (Crotalus atrox).
