I have used them with many larger species. You do have to keep an eye on the species. Some types will rub their backbone and cause scaring or discoloration of the skin.

I came about the Retes stacks with wood, as rock is too heavy and can cause death, particularly with such species as panoptes, as they never stop redesigning their cages. Good luck
