I have recently acquired an iguana. It is approximately 2-4 months old. As of right now his living area is a glass 30 gallon tank about 3ftx2ft and about 2 ft deep with a wire screen top. He has a powersun UVA/UVB light with a night red light. He has a bathing dish also along with real tree bark for climbing and hiding.
My problem is keeping his humidity. I have tried many methods after ALOT of research and none of them seem to work well. I have also put his substrate I. That is repti safe fir bark chips that is supposed to be great for holding moisture for humidity for tropical animals. The only way I can get his humidity up is drench his cage with water 4-5 times a day and it only lasts an hour or so. I know it's not good for the humidity to go up and down because of respiratory issues. I also get him out every day and bathe him.
Any suggestions?
