These are great. Although I'm not as far north as you I've noticed an unprecedented July peak; instead of ringnecks replacing worm snakes after temps hit 90 and then disappearing themselves, they both are just constant and NWS are as you say less conspicuous (I'm still waiting for a night sighting). You can't go out and find a milksnake here though or a bunch of garters.
