I am so happy to hear everything is working out well for you. Keep working with the nipping he will be well worth it! A bird learning to play with toys is a great thing to hear. So many owners expect a bird to automatically know what to do with a toy just because it is there not realizing it has to actually learn to play like a child would. We have had in many birds that "just won't play" that love toys once they find out what they are for. Then of cours there are the owners that won't provide wood toys because their birds will "just destoy them" LOL!! What do they think their bird is supposed to do with them, look at them?
We just got in a handicapped quaker on Friday. She is settling in nicely. She has only one leg. Her previous owners noticed she was picking at her leg badly around her band so they took her to a local vet to have it removed. Well the local vet wasn't well versed on bird care and when cutting off the band cut deeply into her leg. Her leg then had to be amputated because of the seriousness of the nerve damage. She gets along wonderfully though and LOVES toys of all shapes and sizes, though her favorite thing to do is have a fight with her bells LOL!
Keep the updates coming!
