I have never heard of an eclectus with a respiratory problem due to dust. I have seen and heard of them that have respiratory infections usually due to mold/bacteria but not from dust. We have had several eclectus' in the same room with cockatoos and have never had a problem. I would suggest whichever type of bird you get to make sure they don't develop respiratory problems to purchase a good air purification system. There are many on the market and can actually help keep the humans in your family from developing allergies as well. Good luck!
