I plan on breeding Knight Anoles. I would prefer to keep one pair or three in a large cage 6X2x2ft to start? Will this work?
I am really wondering how much they fight or react off each other, and if it would be better to house them separately in small cages. Also I was planning on lighting them with an exoterra 50 -70 watt sunray and a zoomed led UVB hood are these adequite? I live in miami and my apartment doesn t have air conditioning so its warm and humid all the time. Also does anyone have any suggestions on making 'natural' decor. For example I have read they generally live in the crown of royal palm trees. I was hoping to add a fell palm tree and maybe cover it with vines. The crux of the question is the cage. I come from an aquarium background and generally you aquascape naturally and keep one maybe two species in a tank and it looks great and they have a higher chance of breeding. If this isn't doable with knight anoles I wont waste my time. Rather than risking creating a really large cage for a harem I would seperate one smaller cage 4X2X2 for the male and another 4' tall X2X2 for the female/s. If 6tallX2X2 isn't big enough for three full grown adults how big would you need? I have also been considering making a very large enclosure out of PVC and wire but again am just unsure how to start.
