What I would suggest you do is look at several conservation groups. I am a member of the chicago herp society and they do fundraising for several different groups as well as offering grants.
Currently the Chicago herp society is working with Project Utila, The Grand Caymen Blue Iguana, The Jamacain Iguana and the TSA donations wise. More info can be found on their grants page.
The iguana work is on www.cyclura.com. Also on Cyclura.com you will find several links on the left hand side to other conservation effort including the TSA.
My suggestion would be to look at those sites and see exactly what you feel needs the most help and offer your members a vote option. The CHS may also be able to assist your group in a grant program.
