I recently took in a terrible looking 6 foot Columbian boa. She had blisters, rat bites all down her neck and a bump on her nose. With a bit of treatment all the blisters and rat bites have cleared up and can't be seen at all. But I’m concerned about her nose, it's got a firm swollen 'bump' on top. I think it's a fatty tumor. I'm wondering; should this be removed? I've heard these can be completely benign but I’m worried about it harming her respiration. Also she seems to be constantly shedding. As soon as she’s shed one layer (not in one piece) it seems her eyes become milky again and there’s a whole other layer to go. Is this common for rescued animals being placed in a new environment or a symptom of illness? Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated. I'm taking this boa to the vet next week.
