I had to take a couple of turtles to the vet yesterday for a few issues. The vet told me something that no one else had mentioned before, but it made so much sense - don't feed the animal right before or right after medicating/treating the animal, so that the animal doesn't associate food with trauma! It's one of the simplest but most practical suggestions I've heard yet in rescue/rehab.
