I just obtained 1.1 CB blue spiny lizards.

They don't look like the standard blue you see in the guide books, but resemble what I've seen labelled as a possible Mexican sub-species.
And the search is complicated because blues are listed as either S. serrifer cyanogenys or S. cyanogenys.

And the following photo isn't the greatest. The lizards are still skittish, and the best I can do is shoot through the glass with a mix of incandescent and flash.

My attempts to fix the color cast has resulted in too much blue. But the overall pattern is there. Black collar with white borders and subdued coloring overall. This is the female. She is about 2 yrs old and maybe 6-7 inches long. The male is slightly larger with a bolder collar and a faint blue underneath. The parents are maybe 10 inches.

Any ideas?
