New baby boa lost in CAR!! Please help!

Snakelover_CA Feb 05, 2006 05:26 PM

I feel like such an idiot! I have 3 snakes and 2 weeks ago I got a new baby rainbow boa. I drove to my husband's work to show her to him and she wriggled away from me and got into the space where my windshield wiper controller is.. She has been in the dashboard somewhere for 2 weeks now.

My husband took the whole thing apart (there are parts that can't be taken apart like the stereo) but we couldn't see her). We left the dash apart and I didn't drive the car for 5 days, left a heating pad in it. Then, we bought a mouse and put it in there with a trap my husband made... No luck. Does anyone have any other ideas please??? I have to turn my leased car in on the 24th of this month! I am so sad and I feel like such a jerk to let her get away from me.. I don't think she could have gotten out of the car.. How long can she live without food and water? She apparently ate a pinkie on 01/19.
Thank you.

I would try putting out some water, they can go alot longer without food.

I can identify with your situation as I lost my baby Kenyan Sand Boa last year. She escaped in my Yukon. I dissembled as much of my truck as I could without junking it (LOL) in desperation. 3 weeks went by. I tried the pinky in a coke bottle, set up with a low heat mat under the coke bottle. NOTHING during the entire time.

About 3 wks later, I was driving home with some live rats and mice for my other snakes. All of the sudden, I saw a harley davidson spotted snake joyfully wiggling across the floor of the truck. I was overJOYED! True, they can go longer without food...when I took her to her habitat, she plunged her lil head into the water dish and drank for a while.

Now if I could just find that sneaky escape artist Ball Python.
