Cal King morphs...

ratsnakehaven Feb 06, 2006 09:03 PM

I happen to have a hypermelanistic Cal King and a hypomelanistic Cal King. Doesn't seem like mixing these genes would produce anything appealing, but I was curious if anyone has ever done it?

I know the hypermelanistic has been crossed with banana Cal Kings, but I don't know if the hypos have been crossed with any other mutation? I'd appreciate hearing any ideas.

Thanks....TC

Last year (2005) I bred a male Lavender (hypomelanistic) to a female Mendota (hypermelanistic). They produced normal looking banded babies. I will be breeding some of them back to each other (double-hets) in 2007.

That's a nice pair. That Mendota almost looks pure melanistic. I guess the dbl. hets will look normal. I wonder what a dbl, hyper and hypo king, will look like?

Thanks...Terry
