what goes in doesn't seem to be coming out

Maybe this is an obvious question to experienced keepers, but for a relative new comer, it isn't so obvious.

I have a female viper boa who I was told was 3 years old when I bought her. She is great, beautiful, very tame and easy to handle, and surprisingly - took to eating prekilled mice on the first try even though her previous owner fed her live.

My question is this - I have had her just under a month, and fed her twice (a full grown mouse each time). She seems completely healthy, but has not defecated yet. Is this something I should be concerned about? I know aspera have slow metabolism, but wow - a month is a long time....

Well I have seen this post here for a while, but I do not work with Aspera so I figured I would let someone else answer it. But since that doesn't seem to be happening, here is my 2 cents.

First off what kind of temps are you running? And do you have a large water bowl in the enclosure? Most of my candoia only deficate in the water bowl.

I would say as long as the snake is eating readily that you probably don't have anything to worry about.

Here are a couple links to candoia sites....

Good luck and keep us posted....
