Fattail Trouble.. Question about Tail. HELP

cbboids Feb 26, 2006 08:10 PM

I recently purchased a male albino fattail and he has been eating perfectly and in great health. We recently moved him to a new rack system and he has been put with our female tangerine amelanistic and a poss. het for albino female. He seems to be dropping weight though, and has a few cuts on his tail. The end of his tail also has turned black and his tail seems to be really wrinkly looking. He has been breeding our other females, but he is aggresive when he does. Could one of the females have bit him if he was being too rough?? And, what can i do to get him back to health and keep his from loosing his tail.

PLEASE RESPOND QUICKLY, he is a cherished pet.

Nick

Give us a picture of the tail. (I'm not able to tell about the blackness or wrinkling without seeing it...dab some neosporin on any cuts he has...send a pic!)
House him with the females for breeding only, when you think he is finished breeding remove him and house him by himself.
Make sure the temps are around 92 for him to eat right.
Yes, some females can be more abusive to the male than the male is to the females. Those cuts on his tail are from the female.
IF HE CONTINUES TO GET MORE BEAT UP YOU SHOULD REMOVE HIM.
