Uroplatus Care Sheet??

pernads Feb 27, 2006 04:31 PM

Hello all, I have had 3 leopard geckos for about 5 years now, a panther chameleon for 3 years, and I am getting some carpet chameleons next week. I am interested in getting some uroplatus, but i dont know anything about their care. They come from Madagascar, so Im guessing their habitat is similar to my chameleons. Do they require UV light? What kind of temps. What is a good enclosure. Can I have more than 1 live together. What are some good food items. If any one has any links to a good care sheet, I would greatly appreciate it. I am not sure of what kind of uroplatus i want, but i want to start gathering info.

Thanks,

Greg

first of all, check out the Uroplatus sub-forum here. youll find a link to it on the general gecko forum page, under the picture of the tokay. anyhow, i have recently written, and am continuing to add and edit information on an exhaustive U. phantasticus caresheet. some of the information can be generalized for use with other species of leaftails. anyhow, ive posted it in a few other forums with active members. check it out, but its a loooong read, not your usual 1-page caresheet. hopefully, in the future others will add their own caresheets for particular uroplatus species in this link ill provide you with. but for now, mine is the only one (it's fairly new, but keep your eye on it).
