Satanic tail drop

honuman Feb 28, 2006 08:33 AM

Grrrr!!! I one of my Satanic leaftails was shedding last night and this morning I just notice that he completed his shed but he dropped his tail in the process. I forget if they regenerate or not. Would somebody refresh me on this point please?

He is otherwise doing fine.

Oh and just an update on my female lined leaftail who a few weeks back had a calcium crash. After weeks of hand feeding enriched crickets to her twice weekly (I certainly would not want to get nailed by that chomping mouth -- shades of tokay or what??) She is recovering her mobility and has shed several times. Her color has gone back to normal and she is finally on the mend. Thank goodness. I was a bit nervous for a while there.

no, satanics don't regenerate their tails. Glad to hear that your female is recovering after that crash though.

keep an eye on that animal. Sometimes when they drop their tails, a healthy animal will just crash out of the blue. Bummer that it occurs but it does. I lost my best looking male that way.

Thanks for the tip. Thus far he seems to be doing fine. I'll keep a close eye on him though.
