should i get a painted turtle?

Hi i have a 75Gallon tank and im wondering what to put in it.Im thinking about getting some painted turtles.What kind of set up do they need and how many of them can go in that tank just One or more?

plus do they like to be handled are they handlable or do they just dont want you to touch them?

I think a 75 gal would support 2 painted turtles if you fill it up all the way. Build a canopy hood so the basking area is above the top of the tank. This is the only way to take full advantage of the 75 gallons of water. They prefer not to be handled.

Heres some pics of my 120 gal setup. Notice the tank is completely full.

I have just 1 painted, he's always lived alone and he does not like to be handled. He'll beg for food, he'll act interested in seeing me when he's in his tank, he's not afraid of me when I walk into his room. When I walk in he'll just continue to bask if that's what he's doing, nothing going on around him ever bothers him, but he just does not want to be handled. So I only handle him on tank cleaning day.

I would say check the web and your local pet store (not a chain, but the small mom & pop places) for information about tank set up. I know that there are several sites online that talk about turtle tank set up.
