Achieving the 'Holy" Trinity

rearfang Apr 13, 2006 02:55 PM

Finally did it. After years of trying. I now have a representive of all the subs of L. Calligaster.

A male 2.5' (typical)prairrie.

A female 2.5' south Florida (Desoto Co.). Nice twin spots-over 70.

A male netonate~grey with 44 red blotches~Mole king.

(The mole has sveral similarities to the SF which leads me to beleave it's orrigions is the north of the state.) Hope to do some pairing at Daytona.

Gret Frank! Now we can trade some young'n's some day.
I keep moles from n FL, GA, VA, NC and calligaster from TX?
and I am going to add to my sfmk hopefully this year.
When I started out I wanted a representative of at least all the species of kings/milks. Alterna, mexicana, getula, calligaster, zonata, triangulum, pyromelana and ruthveni. That's what started all this mess!
I still have 'em all but the ssp. have dropped in numbers (I think).
See where there is some shake-up in the works concerning most Lampropeltis according to a friend......
Good luck with your calligaster!

That looks like me when I post at 2 Am (lol)

As much as I am into the unusuals and breeding small pythons end eyelash, I gotta admit, there is something about Lampropeltis that keeps pulling me back. Just got a gorgeous polyzona and an abberant Nelsons too (almost bullseye and het for albino).

Have to pair up these Calli's. Are you going to be at Daytona this year?

Yup Frank, I'll be there again. I remember talking very briefly last year. Maybe we'll get a chance to gab a little more in Aug.
