Update** Got my Girl!!!

feeniee Apr 18, 2006 10:01 PM

O.k. so in my opinion, she not really a "Sub-Adult". LOL, but that's o.k. She's Beautiful!! She is four inches total, so it will be about 6 more months before she shacks up with Mr Gecko! Here's a pic of the new girl!

Question, how old do you think she is? I have my guess and what I was told, but I'm looking for a 3rd opinion.

Thanks!!

She's adorable!! We need a better picture to help determine her age.

She doesn't have a name yet, but I like Liliana Gecko.

She is exactly four inches long, has a regenerated tail about 1/4 inch long, but almost completely grown back. I'm thinking 3-4 months myself. Let me know!!

Day geckos have such a (pretty) look to them, nice eyes and faces, makes them look gentle. I still have to say a few months, like with the first pic. Shes not that big. But awfully CUTE !

Liliana , sounds like a Charming Lady Gecko name hehehhehe

Very nice looking grandis you have there! Just so you know it could just as easily be a boy. If the person who sold it to you told you it was a female - they are full of sh...

The grandis that I have been producing reach that size at about 2, maybe 3 months old - depending on how much I feed them.

Its a gorgeous gecko and I hope she thrives

I agree, she may actually be a male. If she is about 3 to 4 months of age though, you should be able to start seeing some yellowing and a hint of preanal pores. Take a look and see. The age seems about right though.

She is beautiful and Liliana seems to fit her well too.

LOL. I'm pretty sure she's a she. Here are some close ups of her and Mr Geckos ummmm private parts. Let me know what you think. I was told she was around 6-7 months..... but I don't think sooooo!!! LOL!
The first 2 pics are "her" and the last one is Mr Gecko.

Very nice closeups! Mr. Gecko definately is a male, I can tell you that, but the younger one is unsexable. You're just going to have to wait a few months (at least). If its a female, she'll start dropping infertile eggs once she matures. Males get the yellow and the enlarged pores as you know.

You've got a 50/50 chance - thats all anyone call tell you for sure.

point Feenie. And I still think only a couple to a few months, no way that gecko is 8 months old I think ya got FIBBED to, LOL

Just wait it out, and HOPE real hard ! Sure is a beauty which ever. If it turns out to be MALE, email me, remember I have an adult female, if ya know what I'm saying.... we can talk then.

BUT lets hope ya got a girl
