Advice re: separating m/f

sixeachlimb Apr 19, 2006 11:40 PM

I have 2 anoles, one male one female. I bought them ignorant of the fact that a male can stress out a female in the same enclosure.

I am now preparing to separate them as the female does not look very healthy, and I suspect it is due to stress. The male looks great.

My question: would it be better to move the male or the female to the new tank? On the one hand I don't want to stress female more by moving her, on the other hand the male is already healthy and at home in old tank. And lastly, I may have to move which ever one I can catch!

Any advice on which lizard to move and any tips on how to safely move them would be so greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Never mind, too late, caught the male and he's been happily moved for a few days now. Both doing well.

Not busy enough here yet for anyone asking real advice-maybe we should post links to the site around other reptile/herp sites.
