Anole in Saipan

el_toro Apr 29, 2006 08:42 PM

I just got back from a trip to the Marshall Islands and Saipan. At the conference hotel's garden, there were flocks of green anoles - they're being run out of their own territory in the SE US, but they're doing their own invading all the way out in the Pacific.

I saw some when I was in Hawaii last year, but I didn't know they had made it to Spain.

they have been introduced on Guam as well, but they are pretty limited there due to the presence of many other competing lizard species as well as the brown treesnake
