a lifer for me-been wanting to see one for a few years now....had to watch a car or two pass over him while we turned around...very nerve-racking.

Nice save! And nice picture!! I used to rescue a fair amount of Spotteds off of the highway in NJ. I wish more people would do this, or at least TRY to avoid the turtles. What state was this one in?
P.s. I like the Kauffeld quote.

that guy was in n.c....thanks...yeah mr.kauffeld to me is truly a great writer-in that book especially(snakes and snake hunting) his craft shines through-i think it's clear that not just any herper can get imagery like that across with a pen and paper.
