HI everyone, i have two chinese fire bellied newts and one of them is very sick. he has an open wound on the front of his face which seems to be getting worse, i dont know if he has mouth rot or if the other 1 attacked him etc. it has been weeks now and i cant get him 2 eat and i am very worried he is going to die. ive tried all sorts of food etc. i need 2 cure this wound on his face but i dont know how to, i dont have an aquatic vet near me. How can i cure his wound?any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

i'm not a vet or anything but i would seperate him from the other one, increase the water temp. and make it easy for him to get on land/into water. try moving the prey with tweesers so he can get it easily if he wants it. for the wount cotton swab it with alcohol to prevent a bacterial infection. as how to heal it i would try e-mailing some vets if possible. there also is this stuff you can give for an extra coat of "slime" and that might help. good luck and tell me how everything works out!
