I have what I believed to be a baby C. c. carinata that I purchased a few months back. I was completely sure of it's taxonomy up until last night.

I won the raffle at my Herp Society's meeting last night, and one of the choices was a pair of Candoias, which I promptly bagged up. I could tell from their size that they were C. c. paulsoni. When I got home, I compared them all closely, and dang if that little one doesn't look like a "Mini-me" of the others, aside from the pattern.

I guess my question is: How can I be sure if I have a Carinata or a baby Paulsoni??

Lets hear what Jerry had to say??? I would guess...the little one is C.c.carinata? Usually more slender with different pattern than the paulsoni.......?

According to J. Conway, the little one is an adult Carinata and the bigger one is a sub-adult Paulsoni.
