Makes no sense to me...

I do not understand why fat tails seem so less popular that leopards. I see that leos have more breeding/morph possibilities, but still fatties are such great little pets and the amels are breath taking. I just do not get it. Does anyone see this changing? Breeders are you having problems selling your babies?

I think the main reason why fattails are not as popular as Leopards is because there are not any morphs. You have the normal, striped, albino, and a few others, but none stand out that much. Breeders just need to take the time and work on breeding projects for color and other morphs. I have a relatively small collection, but I am going to try and get some interesting projects going. My fattails are selling relatively well and im sure I will be sold out by years end it just takes time. Im sure that fattails will become very popular when there are some morphs hatched out. Until then Im going to keep working with them because I like them.

thanks

I have a leopard, and am currently caring for my sister's fat tail. Both are great. This may not answer your question, but the only reason I can think of(asides from breeding/morphs) is that leopard geckos are simply seen more often in pet stores. You go into any pet store, chances are they have leopards. Not alot have fat tails. Maybe 1/5 do. However, fat tails must be popular, because when I do see them for sale, they are gone fast.
