Two new fatties

Canio Jun 07, 2006 11:08 PM

Here are our two new geckos. They arrived yesterday and seem to be settling in well. My camera/photography skills are not the best so I apologize for the blurriness. They are far less blurry in real life :P They are a tangerine amel female (Mocha) and a het amel male (latte). We hope to breed them next season.

Blurry, schmurry. They look good from here . Out of curiousity, When breeding a het amel to a normal, what are the odds of getting an amel? I know it's the long way around, but just wondered what the odds might be. Thanks.

Honestly I am not positive but I think it would be zero. I think you would get 50% normals and 50% hets. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

OK, then you'd need het to het to get an amel? Is what I ment by goin' the long way round. It would just take longer to get it.Thanks.

To get an amel you have to breed either het to het, which would give you 1 amel for every 4 babies. Amel to het would give you 1 amel for every 2 babies. And amel to amel would give you all amels.
