Hi there, the first was found in Greensboro,NC. The larger one was found in Mobile,AL. I would like to know what species they are, so if anyone knows please let me know! Thanks for looking!

oops I forgot to add the second one's picture...sry

The first turtle is an Eastern River Cooter - Pseudemys c. concinna. The second turtle is also a subspecies of Cooter, the Hieroglyphic River Cooter - Pseudemys c. hieroglyphica.
I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me what they are! I see those river cooters out basking on little logs all the time when Im kayaking and figured I would find out what they were... is it normal for some to have patterns on their plastron whereas others that appear to have the same pattern on their carrapace have no markings at all on their plastron? Thanks again!
The River Cooter subspecies hybridize in a large area in the southern united states, so I would imagine the plastral patterns would vary. Now that I think about it, the second turtle you have there is more likely a hybrid, instead of a "true" hieroglyphic.
