eye problems...!

toxicogenic Jun 18, 2006 02:29 PM

i posted a message a few days ago about my frilled dragon. there seems to be something wrong with his eyes now. i read an old post that someone wrote about their frillie making its eyes bulge out..that same thing is happening to mine. i noticed he was shedding from his little eyes and eyelids so i helped him out and he actually stopped making his eye bulge out. but today i noticed he didnt want to eat and is just laying there. i took him out and noticed something that looks like dry shed sticking out from his eye. so i took a tiny piece out with tweezers but he still has something left in there...looks like something dried up. i dont know but im taking him to the vet ASAP. i just was curious as to what happened to the other guy with the same problem. any suggestions or help would be great...thanks.

All I can say is make sure you keep his enclosure humid and warm enough until you can get him to the vet. Making it as comfortable as possible so that he can focus on fighting what is wrong with him is best. Hope this helps some....

i took him to the vet today. he cleaned up his eyes and he started to open them. he did a fecal exam and it was negative. then he gave him an subdermal injection of fluids and some vitamins or w/e to give him a little boost. he looks good and is more active. i know and read that the reason they bulge out their eyes is because they are going to shed. this can happen with other lizards with eyelids. it helps them loosen the skin around their eyes. we..thanks for the help.
