I know this is a long post, but please read on; I need advice.

After noticing an odd spot on my frillie's (Jack) frill, I decided to look closer. It looked like a bit of skin that never pulled off, although he was still in the process of shedding. However, since the rest of his upper body had finished shedding, I decided to assist and pulled the dead skin off. I was surprised and somewhat worried to see a scale-shaped hole there, surrounded by a small patch of black skin with scale-shaped impressions. I don't know if this is normal or not, but I need advice on what to do. Please respond.

You should take him to a vet, I had a problem with one of my other lizards that I had just gotten from a distributor, I thought it was excess shed, but it started coming off and there were scales missing. Come to find out, it was 2nd degree burns. The vet put something on it and she has healed nicely, she is even re-growing her scales instead of scarring.

My point is, you need to know exactly what it is before you can fix the problem, a trip to the vet is what I recommend.

If you look at a lot fo importd frills; they have this problem. Usually edges of the frill will burn after time if the heat is too high and focused. Normally you dont see this in captive born animals. I have heard that mites can also be a problem. Frills skin is really thin and therefore suseptable to a ton of different problems. You should post whatthe vet says; if he wants todo a blood panel then do it. If this guy is imported then you will prbably find mroe internal issues. It is important to know what caused what and what each treatment is doing. Good luck
