What kind of Candoia is best for first?

sanclementesnake Jun 27, 2006 11:45 PM

I recently became interested in ground boas. I've done the research and I have decided it is right for me. So now it is time to pick. Which one is the best first time Candoia owner? Also which one is most readily available?

Thanks,
Justin

It really all depends on what you are looking for. Candoia come in all different sizes.. etc......

Personally, I have only kept Candoia c. paulsoni.

As long as you get a CB, rodent eating ,"tame" candoia I think you would be fine with any of the species.

As far as I know most of the candoia on the market are WC. However Candoia c. paulsoni and Candoia aspera are pretty easy to get from private breeders if you just look around a bit.

Good luck and keep us posted!
