Captive Galliwasp sp. in the US.

Jay W. Jun 29, 2006 09:16 PM

I hope this is the correct forum for this inquiry, but I was curious to know if anyone is, or knows of, any captive breeding for any Galliwasp sp? Some were imported from Hispaniola over the past few years, and I'm not sure where they went. Thanks.

i remember a few years ago they were available from an overstock from a breeding project from the Hispaniola, as you said. when i spoke to the guy selling them he said that they will probably not offer them again because they did not genenrate much interest. for me, the only thing was the price, i couldnt affor $300 for them. also i think most people dont know what to do with "weird" animals so they dont want to chance it.
i think they just stayed where they were bred. they belong in the alligator lizard forum with other ophisaurus guys.
hope this helps.
